MLA Raja Singh suspended from BJP

Hyderabad, August 23: BJP’s Central Disciplinary Committee suspended MLA Raja Singh from the party for making controversial remarks against Prophet Muhammad in a video uploaded on YouTube. In a show cause notice issued to Raja Singh, the BJP said that he expressed his views contrary to party’s position on various matters. He was asked to give reply on or before September 2.
 
Cases were registered against Raja Singh in several police stations across the country after he uploaded the video on Monday night. On the request of Hyderabad police, YouTube removed the video by 11 pm. The MIM activists staged protests in front of police stations in Hyderabad demanding arrest of the BJP MLA.
 
The police arrested Raja Singh on Tuesday and shifted him to Bollaram police station. He will be produced before a magistrate and will be remanded within two to three hours. The high command may expel the MLA from the BJP if it is not satisfied with his reply.
