BJP MLA Raja Singh arrested for uploading controversial video on YouTube
Hyderabad, August 22: The police arrested BJP MLA Raja Singh on Tuesday for uploading a video on YouTube. In the video, he made controversial comments against Prophet Muhammad.
The MIM corporators handed over a complaint to SHO of Chandrayangutta police station against Raja Singh on Tuesday. Later, they staged a protest in front of the police station and raised slogans against the BJP MLA. The MIM activists warned of severe consequences if Raja Singh was not arrested within 24 hours.
On the request of Hyderabad police, YouTube deleted controversial video uploaded by Raja Singh. The MLA said that he uploaded the video to counter videos of stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui. He faulted Telangana police for allowing Munawar Faruqui to perform a comedy show in Hyderabad despite repeated requests from him.
Talking to reporters while police arresting him, Raja Singh stated that he is ready to die for Hindu dharma. “I will upload second part of the video on YouTube very soon,” he revealed.
