12 students, teacher injured after slipping on escalator
Hyderabad, August 19: As many as 12 students and a teacher were injured when they slipped and fell on a moving escalator at a multiplex in Banjara Hills in Hyderabad on Thursday.
Students of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavans’ Public School, Jubilee Hills, went to PVR RK cineflex at Banjara Hills to watch ‘Gandhi’ movie on Thursday morning. After going up, the students got confused while stepping down from the moving escalator and fell down. 12 students and a teacher were injured and they were shifted to Apollo Hopsital in Jubilee Hills.
After providing primary treatment, teacher and eight students were discharged. Four students – Abhinav, Tarun, Hasini and Kritin – were still in hospital as they have to undergo surgery.
Ministers Sabita Indra Reddy and Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Mayor Gadwal Vijaya Lakshmi visited the students.
