Bengali actor Saibal Bhattacharya attempts suicide with a sharp weapon
Kolkata: Bengali actor Saibal Bhattacharya attempted suicide on Monday night. He was in depression for some time and attempted suicide at his residence in Kolkata and took a video of it and posted it on Facebook.
“I don't see any other way. My wife, mother-in-law..', the video stopped in the middle of his speech. It seems that the actor injured his head and legs with a sharp weapon in his hand. He is lying in a pool of blood and he is undergoing treatment in the hospital.”
While Saibal did not get opportunities, he went into depression. Moreover, the family members suspect that he has recently become addicted to drugs and may have made a bid to end his life. 'Prothoma Kadambi' serial brought a good name to Saibal. He played many roles as a father and uncle and also worked as a script writer and dialogue writer.
The Bengali industry is reeling from the series of celebrity suicides. Industry circles are worried that Saibal tried to commit suicide just a few weeks after Pallavi Dey, Bidisha Dey Majumdar and Manjusha Niyogi committed suicide.
