KA Paul detained by police in Tirupati

Tirupati, August 3: Praja Shanti Party chief KA Paul was detained by Tirupati police on Tuesday for conducting prayers at university without permission.

Paul along with his followers entered Sri Padmavathi Mahila Univesrity and conducted prayers for the health of a student at the hostel. The security staff informed the higher officials about Paul and his followers entering women’s hostel. The varsity officials complained to the police.

Police detained KA Paul and later shifted him to MR Palli police station.

Reacting over the incident, university in-charge Vice-Chancellor Gitavani said that KA Paul along with his followers entered the university without permission. There is no permission for others to enter the hostels. ‘Security staff informed that Paul came to the hostel and we complained to the police. It is not correct to conduct religious prayers at women university hostels,’ she said.
