Nellore: Four cops including SI suspended over suicide of physically challenged

Nellore, July 30: District Superintendent of Police (SP) Ch. Vijaya Rao suspended four cops over alleged suicide of physically challenged. According to reports, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Jayaraj and constables Chand Basha and Santosh Kumar have brought a physically disabled to police station on the instructions of SI Venkataramana.
 
A theft complaint was lodged against physically challenged, who was staying along with his parents at a farm field in Chunchuluru village. Parents alleged that their son committed suicide by consuming pesticide-laced drink after he was thrashed by police at Marripadu police station. 
 
The SP ordered a probe into the incident and appointed Additional SP Chowdeshwari as an investigating officer. Chowdeshwari, Atmakur DSP Venkateswara Rao and Circle Inspector Venugopal Reddy have started collecting facts over the suicide.
