AP gives up hope on ‘special status’ tag for state
Hyderabad, Dec 31: The Chandrababu Naidu government in Andhra Pradesh appears to have given up its hope on getting the special category status for the state, if AP Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu is to be believed.
According to Ramakrishnudu, the central government is preferring to dole out funds instead of granting the much sought after special category status to AP.
The central government is unable to give the special category status to AP due to political compulsions, sources in New Delhi said.
Even Ramakrishnudu is reported to have said that the Narendra Modi government is vague on the issue of granting special category status to AP.
