Nara Lokesh seeks immediate withdrawal of GO No. 117

Amaravati, July 28: TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh on Thursday came down heavily on the YSRCP government for burdening teachers of government schools with heavy workload. In series of tweets, he alleged that the AP government is using New Education Policy (NEP) to harass government teachers.

As per the GOs 117, 128, 84 and 85, teachers have to take 40 to 48 periods in a week as against 24 and 30 periods, he stated and mentioned that posts of headmasters, physical education and subject teachers would be reduced if there is no required strength of students in schools as per orders.

Nara Lokesh alleged that new GOs would benefit private schools with closure of government schools in the name of rationalisation. “There is a threat of several poor students becoming child labourers,” he warned and declared that the TDP is extending support for the protesting teachers organisations. He demanded that the Jagan government should withdraw GOs immediately.
