8 dead in collision of double-decker buses on UP expressway

Lucknow, July 25: At least eight people were killed and another 20 were severely injured in a major accident on Poorwanchal express highway in Uttar Pradesh. The mishap took place on Monday morning. The injured were shifted to local CHC Hyderghad community health centre. The condition of three of the injured was stated to be critical and there were rushed to Trauma centre in Lucknow.
 
Two double-decker buses were going to Delhi from Bihar. When one of the buses stopped suddenly, the second bus, which was going at a high speed, collided with it near Narayan Pur village. 
 
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief and extended condolences to the victims’ families, who died in the mishap.
