Tension at Lal Darwaja Bonalu after group clash

Hyderabad, July 25: Tension prevailed at Lal Darwaja Bonalu after unidentified persons attacked a group near the temple on Sunday evening.
 
Ravinder and Sudhakar, potharajulu of Pothalingam temple, along with 20 people went to Mahankali temple at Lal Darwaja on Sunday evening. When they were returning after having Goddess darshan, some miscreants attacked them near Nagam Complex. They beat the potharajulu with sticks. Some of them received severe injuries while pothuraju Ravinder got an injury near his left eye.
 
Police rushed to the spot and controlled the situation. They suspected old clashes are the reason for the attack. 
 
Meanwhile, one of the groups staged a protest near Simhavahini Ammavari temple demanding justice and to take action on the accused. They withdrew their protest after police assured them of filing cases on the attackers.
 
On the other hand, former Minister Devender Goud son Verender Goud and his wife have presented the first Bonam to the Goddess. YSRTP chief YS Sharmila and badminton star PV Sindhu also presented Bonam.
