CM Jagan performs bhoomi pooja for Ramayapatnam Port works worth Rs 3,736 crore

Nellore: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday performed bhoomi pooja for phase-1 Ramayapatnam Port works worth Rs 3,736 crore by offering silk clothes to sea amidst chanting of vedic hymns by priests. He also launched dredging works and unveiled a pylon.
 
Later, the CM visited the photo gallery related to Ramayapatnam Port. Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board (APMB) CEO Shan Mohan explained to Jagan about phase-1 works which will be completed by July 2025. 
The port located just four kilometres away from National Highway 16 and very close to railway line will be useful for neighbouring states like Telangana, Karnataka and eastern parts of Maharashtra. Once completed, the port will generate direct employment to 10,000 and indirect jobs to 30,000.
 
The AP government wants to develop Ramayapatnam Port on par with Visakhapatnam, Mumbai and Kolkata ports. Ministers Kakani Govardhan Reddy, Ambati Rambabu and Gudivada Amarnath, YSRCP MPs and MLAs, and officials were present.
