NIA officials arrive at Alakurapadu to search residence of top Maoist leader RK

Prakasam, July 19: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials arrived at Alakurapadu village in Tangutur mandal in the early hours of Tuesday to search residence of slain top Maoist leader Akkiraju Haragopal alias RK. However, the house was locked when they arrived.
 
Revolutionary Writers Association (Virasam) leader Kalyan Rao resides close to the house of RK in the same village. The NIA sleuths went to his residence and enquired about RK’s widow Sirisha. He told the NIA cops that she went out of station on a personal work and asked them to wait till she arrives. They reportedly told Kalyan Rao that they want to search her house as part of their investigation.
 
However, the NIA officials tried to enter into the house by breaking the lock. By the time, villagers in large number gathered at Sirisha’s residence. Expecting resistance from villagers, tens of police personnel were deployed as a precautionary measure.
