Woman killed for old landline phone
Vijayawada, July 19: A new twist has come in the murder case of a woman, Sita (50), wife of a railway employee, in Satyanarayanapuram railway colony in Vijayawada. It was revealed that she was murdered for an old landline phone, which has great demand on international market.
During enquiry, police found out that several persons were involved in the case and also they elicited important information on railway employees.
A few gangs are paying lakhs of rupees for old landline phones and TVs. Satyanrayana, husband of the deceased, has an old type of landline phone. His friends came to know this and planned to rob it. The gang went to his house, when Sita was alone. They reportedly entered into a fight with Sita and killed her. Along with the phone, they also took gold ornaments of Sita and cash.
Police started investigation as per cell phone call data. A railway employee, who had a key role in the murder, was near the house since the murder took place. Dogs of dogsquad caught him.
