Dil Raju responds to news over stalling Telugu movie shootings from Aug 1

Hyderabad, July 18: Responding to news of halting Telugu movie shootings from August 1 over abnormal rise in production costs, prominent Tollywood producer Dil Raju on Monday made it clear that the Telugu Film Producers Council (TFPC) did not give any official statement over stalling shootings of Telugu movies.

“We are holding discussions on various issues for survival of Telugu film industry,” he stated and added that movie goers have increased their intelligent quotient levels after watching movies of various nations during the pandemic. Dil Raju opined that thinking pattern of movie lovers has changed drastically. “However, directors have not upgraded to meet expectations of cinema lovers,” he mentioned.

The top producer said that only a few Telugu movies became hit and remaining bombed at box office post covid. “I have agreed to produce ten movies after hearing scripts during pandemic. Now, I kept them aside,” he revealed. Meanwhile, the TFPC is contemplating to lower prices of tickets in theatres and to release new films on OTT platforms only after 10 weeks.
