Y.S. Vijayamma steps down as YSRCP honorary president

Guntur, July 8: While saying she always supports Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy as mother, Y.S. Vijayamma announced on Friday on the first day of the YSRCP plenary that she is tendering resignation to the post of the YSRCP honorary president.

“In the present political situation, my support is required for my daughter and YSRTP founder president Y.S. Sharmila as Assembly elections would be held in Telangana much before Andhra Pradesh,” she said.

Vijayamma clarified that she decided to quit the post so that it should not create trouble to her children. The party cadre erupted with joy when Vijayamma said that the YSRCP will come to power with bumper majority in the next Assembly elections.

“Jagan is needed for AP to safeguard its interests and Sharmila wants to be in political arena in Telangana,” she mentioned. She expressed anguish over release of fake resignation letter on social media.
