Three women held for burning two women alive
Konaseema, July 7: Amalapuram police solved the mystery behind the murder of two women. It should be noted here that Sadhanala Mangadevi and her daughter Medishetti Jyothi were burnt alive on July 2 at Komaragiripatnam of Allavaram mandal.
According to Amalapura rural CI Veerababu, Suresh and Jyothi of Komaragiripatnam fell in love and got married on February 10 this year and living in Godithippa.
Earlier Suresh had an illicit affair with a married woman, Nagalakshmi. After marrying Jyothi, Suresh left Nagalakshmi. She became angry at this and decided to separate Suresh and his wife. With the help of her step daughters, Nagalakshmi wrote anonymous letters to Suresh, alleging that Jyothi has illicit affair. Suresh didn’t believe those letters.
Hence Nagalakshmi thought that Suresh will come to her if she kills Jyothi. At that time, Jyothi went to her mother’s house. When the mother and daughter were sleeping on July 2 night, incited by Nagalakshmi, her two step daughters poured petrol on Mangadevi and Jyothi and lit fire.
Noticing fire, Jyothi’s father Linganna tried to douse the fire but both the women were burnt alive.
Police investigated the case and on Wednesday took Nagalakshmi, Soujanya and Divya Haritha into custody. They were sent for 14 days remand and shifted to Rajamahendravaram central jail.
