Tirumala hundi nets Rs 6.18 cr in one day, breaks 10-yr record

Tirumala, July 5: Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple on Sunday collected record collection of hundi offerings worth Rs 6.18 crore in a single day. It is for the first time that the hundi income crossed Rs 6 crore mark. Earlier the highest was Rs 5.73 crore on April 1, 2012.
 
Tirumala temple broke the record in hundi collection after 10 years. The TTD officials have released a statement on Monday in this regard. 
 
In recent times, the hundi income has increased remarkably. For the past two months, the hundi collections were more than Rs 4 crore per day. Sometimes the monthly hundi collections are crossing Rs 120 crore.
