Compartment in Dakshin Express catches fire

Hyderabad, June 3: Fire broke out in the last compartment of Dakshin Express after midnight on Saturday. The train was bound to Delhi from Secunderabad. 
 
Train staff noticed fire in the last compartment at Pagidipalli near Bhongir at around 1 am on Saturday. Railway officials said that it was a luggage compartment.
 
The staff immediately alerted the river, who stopped the train. Passengers became panic and hurried out of the train.
 
Information about whether anyone was injured in the incident is yet to be known. Soon after hearing about the incident, rescue staff rushed to the spot in a special train from Secunderabad. Meanwhile, eight fire fighters from nearby areas doused the fire.
 
Railway officials started investigation into the incident.
