TDP and MRPS activists clash in Nizamabad

Hyderabad, Dec 27: The Telugu Desam Party district general body meeting in Nizamabad turned into a war zone when activists from Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) stormed into the meeting. The MRPS activists were protesting against the delay in the categorisation of SC reservations in Andhra Pradesh state. The activists are said to have gheraoed TDP leader L Ramana and Revanth Reddy and had raised slogans against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. In retaliation, TDP workers beat up some of the MRPS activists leading to scuffles and throwing of chairs at one another. In the melee, several police personnel were also injured and former minister Mandava Venkateswara's car was damaged. Later, police arrested 30 MRPS activists and shifted them to a nearby police station.
