HC orders immediate removal of banners, cut outs, flexi-boards in AP, TS

Hyderabad, Dec 26, 2014: The High Court of Judicature on Friday came down heavily on the banners, cut-outs and flexi-boards of politicians and others erected in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana causing inconvenience for the people. Reacting to a public interest litigation petition ( PIL ) filed by an advocate, the High Court directed the top civil and police officials of both states to remove all unauthorised banners, flexi-boards and cut outs immediately. Petitioner MSN Prasad has stated in his petition that no one has been caring for the implementation of Government Orders that imposed a ban on erecting cut outs and banners in public places. " We direct the authorities to remove them immediately," it said in its orders, deferring till last week further hearing on the petition. In another case, the High Court has also directed the authorities of both states to undertake a review of the statues installed at various places and take suitable decisions on their removal.
