Kamareddy police unravel mystery behind killings of women

Kamareddy, Dec 26, 2014: In a major breakthrough, Kamareddy police have unraveled the mystery behind the killings of unidentified women in and around the town. Police have arrested a couple Mahmad Abudl Saleem and his wife Mallavva of Narayana Peta near Siddipet in Karimnagar district. According to police, first Mallavva befriends lonely women at bus stands and then her husband Saleem joins her. They offer the befriended women lift in their car and after reaching a lonely place on the outskirts , they kill her , rob their ornaments and burn the bodies by pouring petrol so they would not be recognized by any one. But their crime was busted by police who recovered a half burnt body at a lonely place. Though the body was fully burnt up, the dead woman's face was somewhat clear. After recovering the body, they sent photographs to various police stations to identify the body through missing cases. They came to know that the body belonged to 53 year old Gourisetty Pushpa of Siddipet. Family members identified the body and informed the police that she went out after a phone call on the fateful day but never returned. When the police found out that the call had come from Mallavva who was working as a servant maid in Pushpa's house, Police questioned them and the couple spilled the beans. They admitted to having killed five women after stealing their jewelry. Most of the women they killed were newly befriended women while occasionally they used to kill women known to them also by first trapping them as in case of Pushpa, police said.
