Governor Tamilisai responds to Jubilee Hills r*pe case at Mahila Darbar
Hyderabad, June 10: Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan on Friday conducted Mahila Darbar at Raj Bhavan here and interacted with women. She received representations from them. According to reports, some women complained to the Governor regarding minor gang-rape at Jubilee Hills.
“I have directed officials concerned to submit a report on gang-rape case within two days. I have not yet received report from the Telangana government,” she revealed and asked women as to why accused in Disha case encountered and culprits in gang-rape sent to jail.
Talking to reporters, Tamilisai said that she had taken a decision to hold Mahila Darbar for women one day before the actual event. “The programme was conducted to resolve the issues faced by women,” she said and added that there was no political motive to hold Mahila Darbar.
To a question, the Governor said that Raj Bhavan has right to conduct Mahila Darbar and made it clear that she will continue Mahila Darbar in the future also.
