Modi govt offered Rs 2,000 crore reward to Telangana if govt firms privatised: Harish Rao

Medak, June 8: Finance and Health Minister T. Harish Rao on Wednesday inaugurated RTC bus depot at Narsapur. Addressing a public meeting, Harish Rao came down heavily on the BJP-led Central government for privatising Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and removed 50,000 jobs from the BSNL. “Now, the Modi government wants to privatise the railway stations and tracks,” he slammed.

The minister revealed that the Telangana’s Finance Department received a letter from the Central government with an offer of Rs 2,000 crore reward if all government organisations including TSRTC are privatised. Rao further said that the Modi government is ready to give Rs 25,000 crore to Telangana if meters are fixed to agricultural pumpsets.

Harish warned people to be cautious about the BJP. “If the BJP comes to power in Telangana, then it will sell all the government institutions,” he said. Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar, TRS MLAs and leaders, and officials were present.
