Doctors declared girl dead, even when she still alive

Zaheerabad, June 3: An incident took place in Zaheerabad where the government hospital doctors declared a girl as ‘brought dead’ even when she is still alive. The incident came to light late on Thursday.
 
According to information, Archana (20), daughter of Narsimhulu and Sarada and native of Chinna Hyderabad of Zaheerabad mandal, recently got married. She was fasting on May 7 and fell unconscious in her in-law’s house. Her husband informed her parents and rushed her to Zaheerabad local hospital. General surgeon and duty doctor Santosh examined the girl and declared as dead. He wrote a letter that she was brought dead and made the parents to sign in the register also.
 
Archana parents didn’t believed Dr Santosh words and took her to a private hospital in Sangareddy where the doctors said that she is very much alive. They provided treatment to her and discharged the girl on May 22. Again they tested her on May 28 and declared she is completely recovered. 
 
The victims lamented that they have to spend lakhs of rupees for the treatment in private hospitals and demanded justice to them. 
 
Meanwhile, it should be noted here that a new paper was affixed on the place on page in the hospital register, where it was written as Archana was dead. It was written on the new paper that the hospital doctors had recommended to take her to another hospital.
 
Hospital Superintendent Dr Seshu Padmanabha Rao said that when the girl was brought to the hospital, duty doctor Santosh took ECG and written as dead when the pulse came a a single line. ‘The second ECG test showed pulse, hence we tore the first paper and suggested to take her to another hospital,’ he explained.
