Man attacks lover and her mother in Guntur
Guntur, June 2: A man attacked his lover and her mother with a surgical knife in her house at Krishna Nagar in Guntur on Wednesday. Later he tried to kill himself by slashing his neck with the same knife.
According to sources, the victim joined Byjus company in Vizag in August 2020 after completing engineering. There she met the accused Reddy Dharma Teja. Soon after he started harassing her to marry him. But the victim denied his love by saying that her parents will not agree for inter-caste marriage.
Later she was transferred to Vijayawada on promotion in February this year. She went to Hyderabad for training. Dharma Teja followed her to Hyderabad and pressurized her to transfer to Vizag. She complained to the company officials and has been working from home since one month.
Dharma Teja went to her house on Wednesday and sliced both sides of the neck of the victim with a surgical knife. He also attacked her mother. The victim’s sister alerted the neighbours, who caught him. Then Dharma Teja tried to commit suicide by cutting his neck.
Police on receiving information rushed to the spot and shifted all the three to Government Hospital. All the three injured are out of danger.
Pattabhipuram CI Rajashekhar Reddy registered a case and took up investigation.
