Six die in mishap in Palnadu district
Gurajala, May 30: Six persons died in an accident near Rentachintala of Palnadu district on Sunday night. Several others were injured in the mishap.
About 38 agricultural labour and their relatives of Vadderabavi Colony of Rentachintala went to Sri Sailam in a min lorry. After having Lord darshan, on their way back to home, their vehicle hit a stationed cement-loaded lorry from behind near Rentachintala sub-station.
Six persons died on the spot and their bodies were thrown on the road. Several others received grave injuries. The staff at the sub-station evicted the passengers from the lorry and shifted them to a local private hospital and Gurajala government hospital.
The deceased were identified as Narayanapuram Rosamma (70), Makkena Ramana (50), Annavarapu Kotamma (70), Kuriseti Ramadevi (50), Peddarapu Lakshmi Narayana (32) and Pulipadu Koteswaramma (60).
Gurajala DSP Bejawada Mehar Jayaram Prasad and SI Shaik Shameer Basha inspected the spot and shifted the bodies to Gurajala government hospital.
