Attack on Minister Malla Reddy’s convoy
Hyderabad, May 30: Angry participants attacked the convoy of Labour Minister Malla Reddy during a public meeting at Ghatkesar on Sunday evening. They threw chairs and footwear on the Minister and his vehicles, who left the meeting abruptly.
The problem started when the Minister was praising the TRS government and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his welfare schemes at the meeting. The participants opposed his speech and demanded to stop talking. With this, Malla Reddy concluded his speech and left the dais.
The protestors followed him, raising slogans against him. They threw chairs, footwear, water bottles and stones against his convoy. Police managed to escort the Minister out of the venue.
Earlier to Malla Reddy’s speech, Reddy JAC leaders addressing the meeting reminded Chief Minister KCR’s election promise to set up Reddy Corporation with Rs 5,000 crore and demanded to implement it. They also alleged that the CM’s other assurances also not implemented. They demanded the government to provide Rs 25 lakh financial assistance for OC students to pursue higher education abroad.
Malla Reddy alleges Revanth Reddy’s hand behind the attack
Later speaking with the media, Minister for Labour Malla Reddy alleged that TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy conspired to attack him for questioning his anti-people activities. ‘But I am not afraid of these attacks.’ He said that the participants became angry even when he was explaining that it was delayed due to corona.
