3 electrocuted as chariot grazes current wire

Nalgonda, May 29: In a tragic incident, three persons died due to electrocution while shifting the chariot of Sri Sitarama Swamy temple in Ramalayam. Another person was severely injured. The incident took place in Kethapalli village of Nampalli manda,l Nalgonda district on Saturday.
 
According to police, a few days back, chariot festival was conducted as part of Lord Sri Rama Brahmotsaam at the Ramalayam on the outskirts of Kethapalli village. Later, the chariot was kept at the temple. 
 
Thinking that the chariot may get rust as it was made of iron, some persons tried to shift the chariot to the shelter on Saturday. While doing so, the chariot came into contact with 11KV electric wire. Rajaboyina Yadaiah (45) and Pogaku Mohan (36) of Kethapalli village and Dasari Anjaneyulu (26) of Makkapalli village, Gurrampud mandal died on the spot due to electrification.
 
Rajaboyina Venkataiah of Kethapalli village received severe injuries. He was shifted to Nalgonda Government Hospital. 
 
Police shifted the bodies to Devarakonda Government Hospital for postmortem.
 
SI Rajanikar registered a case and investigation is on.
