Intelligence officer dies after accidental fall
Hyderabad, May 19: An Assistant Director of Intelligence Bureau (IB), Telangana region, succumbed to the injuries he suffered after an accidental fall at Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
 
According to CI Ravindra Prasad, Kumar Amareesh (51) of Patna, Bihar, was working as Assistance Director IB at Koti.  Along with the officials, he came to Silpakala Vedika on Wednesday to review the security measures for the visit of Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu.
 
The Vice-President is going to launch a book on lyricist Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry at the venue on Friday (May 20).
 
While video recording the arrangements at about 1 pm on Wednesday, Kumar Amareesh accidentally fell from the dais and suffered severe head injuries. He was rushed to a hospital. He went into coma and doctors confirmed his death at 7 pm on Wednesday.
 
Kumar Amareesh is survived by his wife, son and daughter.
 
He was transferred to Hyderabad four years ago and was promoted as Additional Director from Deputy Director a few months ago.
 
A case was registered and investigation is on.
