Prakasam: TDP women workers try to attack vehicle of HM Taneti Vanitha

Prakasam, May 2: A group of TDP women workers on Monday reportedly tried to attack vehicle of Home Minister Taneti Vanitha when she was heading towards the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ongole to console the gang-rape victim. 
 
Three men had raped a married woman at Repalle railway station on Saturday night. In the early hours of Sunday, the police arrested the accused. Initially, the victim was admitted to Repalle government hospital. Later, she was shifted to the RIMS for better treatment. 
 
YSRCP MLC Sudhakar Babu alleged that the TDP women activists have tried to break the window panes of Vanitha’s car. He demanded the police to register cases against the TDP women functionaries under the SC, ST Atrocities Act and arrest them. 
 
According to reports, the TDP women leaders have punched on the faces of cops when they tried to stop them from reaching HM’s vehicle. Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister Adimulapu Suresh has accompanied Vanitha to RIMS.
