Film , TV artistes take out rally condemning attack on Venu

Hyderabad, Dec 22, 2014: Condemning the attack on 'Jabardasth' comedian Venu by some people, film and TV artistes held a rally this morning in Hyderabad. Senior actor Nagababu, along with the team members of the 'Jabardasth' program, also participated in the rally taken out from the Film Chamber to Banjara Hills Police station. The participants in the rally raised slogans condemning the attack and submitted a memorandum to the Film Chamber Secretary. They have asked the police to take action against the attackers. Naga Babu , speaking to reporters on the occasion, condemned the attack and observed that the program 'Jabardasth' is only intended to make people laugh and provide entertainment. "The script writers have no intention of denigrating any caste or group and there was no justification for the attack on comedian Venu. It may be recalled that some people attacked Venu when he came to Ayyappa temple at Film Nagar on Sunday saying the 'Jabardasth' program telecast on Dec 18 over ETV had denigrated toddy-tappers and women belonging to that community.
