AP Capital: Bill gives sweeping powers to APCRDA

Hyderabad, Dec 21: The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority 'APCRDA' Bill 2014 that the Andhra Pradesh government had Saturday introduced in the state Assembly has several new features in comparison to the draft bill that was revealed earlier. As per the final version of the bill as introduced in the assembly, the APCRDA has been empowered to legalize land pooling for the purpose of building the state's new capital city. A major departure from the first draft bill, the final version the state government has the powers to nominate any person as APCRDA member at any time it wants. As per the introduced bill, the following four MLAs would be inducted in the APCRDA as members: Alla Rama Krishna Reddy (YSRCP MLA from Mangalagiri) and three Telugu Desam Party MLAs Tangirala Sowmya (Nandigama), Devineni Umamaheswar Rao (Mailavaram) and T. Sravan Kumar (Tadikonda).
