BJP to project Nirmala Sitaraman as CM candidate for TN

Chennai, Dec 20, 2014: BJP has tentatively decided to declare Union Minister Nirmala Sitaraman as its Chief Ministerial candidate for Tamil Nadu . With AIADMK Chief facing trial in corruption case and DMK bedridden with family squabbles, BJP leadership has decided to cash in on the present political situation in Tamil Nadu and strengthen the party base in the state. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is convinced of her abilities to lead the party in Tamil Nadu and has decided to project her as BJP's CM candidate well in advance. BJP leadership may take a final call on the issue after party president Amit Shah's visit to the state later this month. The Union Minister, belonging to Tamil Nadu, is the wife of Parakala Prabhakar , Communications Adviser to TDP Government in AP.
