Kakani takes charge as Agri Min

Vijayawada, April 21: Kakani Govardhan Reddy put his first signature on a file that facilitates micro irrigation facility to 3.75 lakh acres with about Rs 1,395 crore, after taking charge as Agriculture Minister on Thursday. His second signature is on a file to distribute 3,500 tractors under YSR Yantra Seva Pathakam. Earlier, along with his family members, Kakani performed puja at his cabin in second block in the secretariat. 

Later, speaking with the media, Kakani thanked Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for giving him the post. Stating that Jagan stand for farmers, he informed that Rs 43,000 crore were allotted to agriculture related sectors during this financial year and more than Rs 20,000 crore cash was credited into the accounts of farmers under YSR Rythu Bharosa scheme.

The minister said that they decided to set up State Seeds Research and Training Centre in Gannavaram and will link up PAC accounts to fulfil farmers’ needs through Rythu Bharosa Kendras.
