9 ft statue of Akkineni to be unveiled at Gudivada

Vijayawada, Dec 17, 2014: Akkineni Foundation of America will present the Akkineni International Awards to some chosen prominent personalities this evening. The president of the Akkineni Foundation of America Dr. Totakura Prasad told reporters here that the awards will be given away at a function at Gudivada in Krishna district. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad revealed that they are installing a 9 ft statue of the late legendary actor Dr. Akkineni Nageswara Rao at Gudivada. "The statue is worth Rs.6.5 lakh," he said, adding that the members of Akkineni family and Minister Kamineni Srinivas will grace the occasion.
