TRS MLA kicks up a row by pouring liquor into the mouths of Holi revellers
Hyderabad: TRS MLA Shankar Naik, who showed enthusiasm during the Holi celebrations, was embroiled in a controversy. As part of the Holi fete, Mahabubabad MLA Shankar Naik mingled with the youth. Without stopping there, he poured liquor into the mouths of the young men. The youngsters drank the raw liquor without mixing it water as the MLA himself offered it to them.
However, one of the youths, who consumed the alcohol, fell ill. Immediately, he was rushed to a hospital where he was provided treatment. The doctors, who treated the young man, said that he fell ill due to drinking raw alcohol. Later, he alleged that cheap liquor in a Scotch bottle was offered to them.
At the same time, a video of the MLA pouring alcohol into the mouths of youth went viral on social media. The excise department has launched an inquiry into the incident as the MLA, who is supposed to follow the rule, has violated it by encouraging the consumption of wine during the Holi revelry. Furthermore, he was held responsible for the hospitalisation of youth, who fell ill, after consuming wine. The incident has now become a hot topic.
