Shun Aadhar card linkage to loan waiver

Hyderabad, Dec 13: YSR Congress has demanded the TDP Government to shun the policy of linking Aadhar card to all welfare schemes and implement loan waiver scheme in the right earnest. Speaking to reporters here on Saturday the party spokesperson Vasireddy Padma said: “Aadhar linkage is being used as a tool to curtail the number of beneficiaries and dilute the welfare schemes. The loan waiver has seen huge chunk of depletion on one pretext or the other and now the Aadhar linkage is a step to further downsize the number of beneficiaries.” "We demand that the State should shun from linking Aadhar cards with loan waiver as many eligible people are being turned down on the ground that they have Aadhar cards elsewhere. While Chandrababu Naidu could have his Aadhar card here in the city and be the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh why not a person having a small land holding in Seemandhra and residing here cannot be eligible for the loan waiver," she asked. TDP has been very deceptive on the loan waiver scheme and in Tirupati a farmer told at a meeting that his farm loan of 1.5 lakh was waived and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu patted the lucky farmer. Later on, it turned out that he told he was asked to tell by the officials and the actual loan waived by the Government was just Rs 29, 999 only. Even innocent farmers are being forced to tell lies by the State for the sake of publicity. The figure given by Kotaiah Committee is much higher than what the Government has earmarked for the purpose. We demand that the Aadhar card should not be linked to loan waiver and other welfare schemes, she said.
