HC bench permits 'Lingaa' release, producer told to deposit Rs. 10 cr
Chennai, Dec 11: The Madras High Court Bench in Madurai has permitted asked the producer of superstar Rajinikanth's movie 'Lingaa' 'Rockline' Venkatesh to release his film, however, he was told to deposit Rs.10 crore before 12 noon on Friday.
A Division Bench of Justices V. Dhanapalan and V.M. Velumani of the apex court in Tamil Nadu has given the orders after hearing arguments on a writ petition filed by filmmaker K R Ravi Rathinam.
Rathinam has claimed that the story of 'Lingaa' movie has been taken from one of his earlier movies.
The producer of the film, Rockline Venkatesh is learnt to have agreed to make the deposit of the said amount with the High Court's Bench Registrar (Administration).
