Farm loan waiver: Jagan slams Chandrababu; to protest on Friday
Hyderabad, Dec 4: YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Thursday strongly criticised Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for cheating the farmers of the state on the issue of farm loan waiver.
The YSRCP leader then announced that his party will organise protest rallies and stage sit in before all the collectorates in the state against Chandrababu for misleading the farmers.
Jagan said Chandrababu had promised to waive off all the farm loans during his election campaign, but he has now backed off on his word. The TDP leader is now stating that he will only waive off the crop loans and not the farm loans, Jagan said.
Stating that Chandrababu had promised unconditional wavier of all farm loans, Jagan said the chief minister was now imposing several conditions on the scheme. Also, there is still no clarity on the Dwakra loan wavier, Jagan added.
Indicating that the actual farm loan amount was in the region of Rs 1 lakh crores, the YSRCP leader said Chandrababu had brought down the figure to just Rs 22 lakh.
