AP govt to bring Godavari river waters to Prakasham barrage

Kurnool, Nov 29: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishnamoorthi said here on Saturday that the state government was seriously planning to bring Godavari river waters to Praksham barrage in Vijayawada. Speaking on inter-linking of rivers in the state, Krishnamoorthi said the proposed Polavaram project is likely to be completed in the next two years. In the Phase II of the project the government plans to transfer 80 TMC water to Prakasham barrage. Stating that agriculture was the main focus area of the government, the Dy Chief Minister requested YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy to stop waging a war against Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and he said instead the opposition leader should cooperate in developing the state.
