1 lakh acres being earmarked for coffee cultivation in north AP: Ravela
Hyderabad, Nov 28: Social Welfare Minister Ravela Kishore Babu on Friday announced that Andhra Pradesh government has created a special wing to promote cultivation of coffee in one lakh acres of land in north coastal Andhra.
He announced this during his discussions with top officials of the Coffee Board of India at the Secretariat in Hyderabad.
The minister further said that the recent cyclone damaged coffee plantations spread across 40,000 acres in the region and added that at least 36,000 tribal families were dependent on coffee plantations.
