Japan tour: Naidu visits Panasonic factory; seeks investments

Hyderabad, Nov 25: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, on the second day of his visit to Japan, on Tuesday visited the factory of the electronics major Panasonic and invited it to invest in the state. Recalling that he was instrumental in initiating the second generation economic reforms during his chief ministership of the undivided Andhra Pradesh during the 1990s, Chandrababu said he was keen to put AP on the trajectory of growth again, according to a state government release here on Tuesday. Asserting that the new AP faced a crisis, Naidu said the situation has been turned into an opportunity. Naidu then appreciated Japan for overcoming several crises and said his government is inspired by that. Stating that his government was investor-friendly, Naidu said it is his government's responsibility to solve any problems. A top official of Panasonic said the company will help AP government in skill development and purifying ground water. The company officials will soon visit AP and explore opportunities for investments, the state government release said. Later, Naidu visited Osaka Chamber of Commerce and met Osaka Chamber of Commerce president Masai Hashimoto. Chandrababu told him that rather than in other countries if investment is done in India, returns would be high and that there are several other Japanies companies in the state already. He also told him that the government is stable in the state and at the Centre, which is viable for investments.
