Smriti Irani courts controversy once again

New Delhi, Nov 24: Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani once again came under the media’s glare after she visited an astrologer in Bhilwara district of Rajasthan. A Hindi daily newspaper on Monday published a photo of of the minister having her palm examined by astrologer Nathulal Vyas. The astrologer is reported to have told news persons that he had earlier predicted Smriti would become a minister. He has now reported to have predicted that she would become the President of India, probably in 5 years from now. When reporter questioned her outside Parliament house, the minister criticised news channels for intruding into her personal life. The minister recently drew flak over a letter she forwarded to IITs in India urging them to turn vegetarian. She was also criticised for the discontinuation of German as a third language in Kendriya Vidyalayas.
