Morning walkers, locals oppose Secretariat at Parade Grounds
Hyderabad, May.20: The TRS government, which allegedly encouraged the morning walkers and local residents with regard to the shifting of the dharna chowk from Indira Park, will have to face the same “music” from the walkers and locals at Secunderabad Parade Grounds.
It may be recalled that the State government has got permission from the Centre to construct the Secretariat at the Parade Grounds as the latter agreed for the exchange of the Parade Grounds land.
Interestingly, the walkers and locals staged a dharna at Secunderabad Parade Grounds on Saturday demanding that the State government withdraw its decision to construct Secretariat at the Parade Grounds.
The construction of Secretariat will harm the interests of morning walkers and locals living around the Parade Grounds. On the other hand, the Cantonment Congress leaders extended their support to the agitating walkers and locals’ agitation. The Congress leaders also formed a human chain on the occasion protesting the decision of the State government to construct the Secretariat at Parade Grounds.
