AP takes steps to appoint PV Sindhu as Deputy Collector

Amaravathi (Vijayawada), May.16: The AP Assembly on Tuesday paved the way for the state government to appoint ace shuttler PV Sindhu as Deputy Collector.

Finance Minister Y. Ramakrishnudu introduced a Bill for an amendment to the Public Services Regulator Act in the State Assembly intended to enable the government to fulfil its commitment to Sindhu for appointment as Deputy Collector.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that the state government was committed to encourage and develop sports activities, especially in the rural areas. He said for the purpose the government was prepared to make required budgetary allocations for creating needed infrastructure. Later the bill was passed.
