CM KCR keen on Palamur projects: Harish

Hyderabad, May.12: Irrigation Minister, T Harish Rao today said that they are focusing special attention on Palamur for completing the irrigation projects. Talking to media persons here Harish Rao vowed that they will bring under irrigation 8 lakh acres in Palamur by completing the projects this year. He said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has instructed them to focus on Palamur projects which will be completed at the earliest. The minister stated that he will make frequent tours in Palamur district for the purpose.

 The government has distributed about 40 tmc Krishna waters to people last year and will make efforts to distribute adequate waters this year also. The farmers are seeking to implement GO 123 for better compensation to their lands instead of 2013 land acquisition act he said. However the state government is for providing the suitable compensation followed by its new land acquisition act 2016. It is pertinent note here that the Centre has approved this act and sent it to President Pranab Mukherjee for his assent which is expected soon. Harish Rao made it clear that he will not sleep and put the officials on continuous until the works of the projects are completed. The irrigation officials, contractors should work in tandem keeping the government targets to complete the projects in view the minister said.
