Girls outsmart boys in SSC Results: Srihari
Hyderabad, May.3: The girls outshone boys as usual in SSC 2017 Examinations by getting 85.37 per cent marks and while the latter got 82.95 per cent marks. Newly formed Jagityal district stood first with 97.35 per cent, Wanaparty District remained last with 64.81 per cent and Karimnagar district got second with 93.71 per cent, Janagam third with 93.56 per cent marks.

The results were announced by Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari at a press conference at Secretariat here. Srihari said that the Backward Class Welfare Schools achieved 94 per cent results this time while the total results were put at 84.15 per cent. He also said that 28 schools got zero per cent results including 20 private, one government, five aided and 2 Zilla Parishat schools, he said. Srihari who also holds Education portfolio said that 2005 schools achieved 100 per cent results and appreciated the girls for surpassing the boys with better performance.

The Government was taking measures to strengthen the government schools, including residential or any others with all facilities besides introducing English medium this academic year. Those teachers who can voluntarily to teach in English medium schools will be offered to teach with some internal training. He said that 5,33,701 students appeared for the examinations including 5,07,938 regular students and 25,763 private. Of 5,37,175 registered 5,33,701 students appeared in  the SSC Examinations held from March 14 to 30 he added.

            The supplementary examinations are scheduled from June 5 to 19 from9.30 am to 12.15 pm he said. Last date for payment of examination fee is May 18 he said.
