Nellore may be renamed Simhapuri: Venkaiah Naidu

Nellore, Nov 15: Union Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu here on Saturday said the central government was considering a proposal for changing Nellore’s name as Simhapuri. He said this after unveiling the statue of Sardar Vallabhai Patel in the local electricity office. Later, while taking to media persons, Naidu said that they are making the plans to convert into a smart city. He requested the locals to support the government in the development of the region. He requested the people not to stop the expansion of roads in the city as they play a key role in the development of a city. The local MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy along with others participated in the event.
