Land acquisition a hurdle for Gannavaram airport expansion: Minister

Hyderabad, Nov 10: Union Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapati Raju said here on Monday that acquisition of land has become a major hurdle for the expansion of Gannavaram airport near Vijayawada. Speaking to media persons, the minister said the expansion works of the airport will be taken of the airport only after the necessary land was acquired. He also said that airports in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh will be developed through public private partnership (PPP) only and added that so far neither of the two governments had approached his ministry in this regard.
