Naa Peru Surya to begin shooting from April 8
Stylish Star Allu Arjun is working in an abroad schedule of DJ (Duvvada Jagannatham) in Abu Dhabi, where the film-makers are shooting the introduction scenes of heroine Puja Hegde. Allu Arjun is playing the role of a Brahmin cook in the movie, while Puja Hegde is seen in a rich NRI character and Puja is seen coming to India for a brief time. The film, being directed by Harish Shankar of Gabbar Singh-fame and is produced by Dil Raju, is slated for release in May 2017 just before the Memorial Day week-end to gain the advantage of a long week-end to garner the overseas revenue in the US.
Surprisingly, Allu Arjun, who took the role seriously, stopped eating non-vegetarian food and he is expected to continue to remain vegetarian till the completion of the film. Soon after the completion of the work of DJ, Allu Arjun is likely to shift to another movie to be directed by popular writer and debutant director Vakkantam Vamsi. Though the film tentatively titled, ‘Naa Peru Surya’ will have a tagline Naa Illu India, will have Visakhapatnam as its backdrop, a part of the movie would be shot in Dehradun and Goa too. While Lagadapati Sridhar is bankrolling the movie, Mega Brother Nagababu is co-producing the film. If sources are to be believed, the formal launch of the film would be on April 8, the birthday of Allu Arjun. The film is slated for release during Sankranti of next year. It may be recalled here that it is Vakkantham Vamsi who penned the story for Allu Arjun’s blockbuster movie ‘Race Gurram’.
